During researching, we had an opportunity to interview Mr. Martin, the author of Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader. "The people worship him. "(Martin) Kim was not simply a leader. He was thought as a god." “He was a successful politician, and people respected him." "(Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader) Even the defectors that escaped North Korea always believed in him and respected him." Author and North Korea expert Bradley Martin explained “I was really surprised that the defectors who went to South Korea, had great respect of him. Even though he made terrible, terrible mistakes…”(Martin). In his book Martin explains:"“Kim Il-sung is charming,” A defector who knew him personally told me in an interview while the North Korean ruler was still alive.”(Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader) It seemed like Kim was a huge inspiration for the people that were in North Korea and was a hero of the Country.
